I doubt anything I personally wanted has ever had anything to do in Overwatch or Warcraft but it’s interesting on how many things I had a problem with that ended up solved. For instance:
Blood elf hunters shooting animation: It was horrible, I complained here and streamed while griping how bad it was, and maybe 3 weeks later, it was fixed.
People killing Farmer Saldean: I put in multiple reports at the Farmers low respawn rate and how even a level 20 Horde could walk up, not pvp enabled, kill the farmer, and then log straight out, avoiding punishment. Guards now spawn if a Horde gets near whether or not they are pvp enabled and instantly attack. The Farmer also respawns instantly if I remember right.
Disc priest PW shield having a CD: Well this was just dumb, but it now has no Weakened Soul nor a CD. I’m pretty sure everyone wanted that.
Overwatch 99% thing: I was convinced if one side on a control point went to 99% with the other side never getting past 0%, either the bad team got a buff of some sort, or the good team got a longer rez allowing the bad team to make a come back during Overtime. This happened ALL THE TIME. I had recorded instances of it and planned to time everything to prove it. Shortly after, some patch went in and this almost never happens any more.
Hm. I’m sure there were more but that’s all I can think of right now.
Overwatch Ana: Now, I’ve said this but I’ll say it here. I think Ana should be able to heal target like Zenyatta. Then she can hit skinny fucks like Widow without needing insane sniper aim while still having her shot delay and reload issue. I could just be a baddie but IMO she’s only good when you’re behind someone huge like Roadhog and just shooting into DAT ASS with little chance to miss. You could still be a grandma sniper to enemies. Let’s see if it happens.
As the new characters are rolling out, it feels a bit like some others got left behind. That’s not to say they aren’t good, just that others are better. I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion but I think Pharah needs some minor buffs. She’s the only character that freezes in place during her ult, which means she’s a complete sitting duck and almost never gets her entire ult line off. Someone even made a joke video about that, in fact. Justice rains from AAH! Justice AHH! Justice rains AHH! If she gets out the entire line, the other team is objectively terrible, imo.
McCree is somewhat close behind because he glows and moves slowly but, his range is much better so he can be almost anywhere and after the slight charge up, he fires immediately.
The other thing is, why is she able to kill herself with her rockets or her ult? No one else is like this (other than Soldier and his rockets, I think). Junkrat was inexplicably made safe from his own bombs and D.va was made safe from her own ult (which she should have been). But turn to get someone and accidentally hit a skinny road sign? Cool, you just killed yourself.
I tried looking back through the patch notes, but it feels like Widowmaker got buffs. I went all the way back to April but I didn’t see anything. It feels like her non-snipe damage went way back up, since she can often melt me as D.va when I’m in her face. Additionally it feels like it takes way too much to kill Widow, since I’ve hit her with Pharah, or D.va, or have been spraying bullets right on her when she had 1 sliver of health and she still didn’t die. Add that to rapid fire sniping and wtf really? Oh and plus the grapple. I meant to do a test game with a widow just standing in place and see how long it takes me to kill her. I feel it’s way longer than other classes especially because of her small hitbox, which I’m almost guessing was possible made even skinnier. When I’m Pharah I try to counter Widow but it feels like even if I hit her with a rocket, it barely does anything.
People are griping endlessly about Mercy and her rez and if anything I think the cast time should be extended a bit. She’s already getting a nerf to her new ult. Otherwise, she still seems just fine to me.
Moira on the other hand, geez. Her ult needs no real aiming on all the maps that are like a hallway (Dorado, Hollywood, Volskaya, etc) but I don’t think it’s really a big deal. She just does too much damage, imo. I went 1v1 with a Moira as Symmetra with us both at full health and she killed me. WHAT?
Her blood sucking orb is ridiculous too. It travels for ABSOLUTELY AGES and hits everything in range, on top of also bouncing. So throw it stupid like, against a wall? No worries, it just bounces around for like 10 seconds all over the place and as far as I know, only D.va can block it. You can’t exactly hide from it on most maps and it might just bounce and follow you anyway.
Her ‘sym’ beamis just too easy for someone who can heal and can destroy any of the lower hp characters. I can’t wait to see what they do with her.
Well then. Mercy has been through a lot of changes but most of which has been with her rez. She started out where her ult was her rez that worked in an AOE fashion that would rez anyone near you with a counter to see how many dead souls were in your area. You couldn’t move while rezzing but it was instant so you barely stopped moving at all.
I’m not going to talk again about how “hold ult rez and hide” game play was stupid, but not being able to move while rezzing was problematic because you were the only living target when casting the rez which usually meant getting headshot or otherwise gibbed soon as you cast it.
Then they made it castable while moving. That was very nice but again you were still the only living and vulnerable target in the area (because the people rezzed are invulnerable for a second or two after rez) and usually got destroyed anyway.
They made Guardian Spirit be usable much more often which helped but, a smart ass Widow or whatever could still get you mid-flight which stunk.
THEN Mercy got to be invulnerable also when rezzing. You know what that was good for? Yep, doing a single rez to live through standing in Hanzo’s ult like a moron, or surviving some other kind of nonsense. So on top of the “hide and rez” bullshit you could cheat death at specific times. And of course the rez-reset stuff that made me want to throw my keyboard.
Needless to say all of that was a problem one way or another so they changed it where rez is now single target, and you have to be quite close to the dead person to do it. You got a double rez during your ult which does something else entirely now.
Only… the cool down imo was way way too frequent so you could take down a big target like a tank and expect a team with Mercy to just immediately bring them back up. Every. Damn. time. I’d almost say it was worse than the AOE rez because she wasn’t encouraged to save it for a good huge rez because it took a while to charge up, but the AOE rez was worse. But, not by much.
I heard a nerf is coming down where in addition to being close to the dead person, the cast time will now be something like 2 seconds. That’s… curious. I had hoped for a longer rez CD but, that may be a double bang by making the Mercy extra vulnerable both by getting closer AND being still. She just might get shot before the rez and now the team is also down a healer. Seems like a bit much but we’ll see.
Maybe I’m still salty about being headshot during a guardian spirit instant rez.
