Bleeds and AOE

I beat the Agatha encounter last night, in 7 attempts total.  Much easier than frost mage.  One thing I noticed in particular though, feral bleeds actually feel like something now.  Before you could keep Rake up on someone, 5 combo into Rip and it barely did anything.  Now you can easily apply bleeds on a mob at low health and run off, confident it will actually DIE.  On top of that we don’t feel anywhere near as energy starved.  I could use Thrash and Brutal Slash (aoe) with my regular bleeds with nowhere near as much focus loss as before.  In WoD feral WAS strong but you had no focus what felt like, all the time.  I used Tigers Fury on CD and still needed it more.  It doesn’t feel like that at all now.

Definitely going to play this and resto into BfA.

Funny enough though, the skin I really wanted, needs PVE challenges on another skin tier.  The one this earned me was the glowy cats.

But I did it with about a week to spare!

Ice Time

So, I did it! Thwarting the Twins! I figured out that keeping the adds up is vital, I mean I already knew that but what was really messing me up was my Ice Time shoulders.  It causes the frost bomb to explode for around 400k damage, which was killing all the adds, which made this encounter basically impossible.  I swapped those shoulders out, remove any talents that increased the damage of Blizzard, and easy peasy:

So all the prior 60+ attempts were for naught because of that dang legendary.  Sigh.

I got the pretty weapon finally!

I then immediately named 2 battle pets after Karam and Raest. I may switch them to squirrels though if I have two that match.

Casting animation changes, and we’re on Argus!

One thing I like about Legion is that it’s sent us to older zones.  I don’t want to ever see a mass update of old zones to high level zones, like Lineage 2 did.  For instance with Blazing Swap, I believe it started out around level 60, then they went to 80, and now it’s even higher I believe.  There was some tweaking during the Cataclysm, but at no point did they take a level 20ish zone like the Mithril Mines and make it fucking level 80, and destroy half of the area in the process.

Yesterday I started out heading to the Exodar.  The last time I visited this was probably last expansion to crush Horde who were attacking it. It hasn’t flown anywhere since it landed in BC, but we got to take a trip!

And fight, what else, demons!

I also ran into Turalyon who we haven’t seen for so long it was actually in the loading screen tips for a while.  We also see Arator the Redeamer, who I remember from my time patrolling, and questing, in Honor Hold.  He mopes around the inn and had some dialog I remember standing around listening to.  Finally he gets to see his parents, who are Alleria and Turalyon.  Man, it only took like 10 years?

Main npcs are looking  better and better all the time, I must say. We’re getting a lot of silver foxes lately, on top of all that.

Oh and  yeah, spells and animations got a lot of updates!  Smite and ‘holy fire’ have new casting animations for disc, as well as HW Radiance.  It looks really good!  Wild growth for druids looks kind of “earth bendery” and my resto shamans healing spells look equally “water bendery”.  Holy paladins don’t seem to have any changes, though. The “I just did something” idle stance is different too.  Blizzard for my frost mage looks much improved and my gnome has a few new casting animations as well.  I still make the ‘angry face’ when casting flame strike but Blizzard hard-casting and meteor look pretty sweet. I had no idea any of that was coming.

I really need gear so, give me nothing I can use!

Do you remember in Cataclysm, that you could finish a quest where the rewards were mail, leather, and plate, and you were a clothie? Well I do.  I thought that was all gone with smart loot but it’s somewhat back again.

For instance, I really need gear on my resto druid and new hunter.  I did my first emissary box.  What did it give me?  Oh, a relic I COULDN’T EVEN USE.  So I did another quest, and another.  Both gave me life relics and I haven’t even opened that slot yet.  So dang annoying.  My druid had the same issue where she got 3 relics in a row that didn’t belong to any spec I play (feral or resto). UGH.

That Thing I Do

So eesh.  I changed my hunter from blood elf to human again.  She was originally human.  Anyway, what did they do to hunters?  Marksman is completely unrecognizable from the last time I played it in MoP.  No fire/explosive trap, for one.  No scatter shot, and ok ok, rightly so.  Ice trap doesn’t look like ice block any more, I don’t like it.  No glaive toss.  No maintaining Serpents Sting or that other thing I use to have to keep uptime on.  It’s just auto attack and hit buttons as they proc.  It’s odd.

Barrage doesn’t work like it use to.  It use to actually send arrows AT people.  Let’s say it loosed 20 arrows and you had 2 targets in range.  Each one got 10 arrows (ish).  Now? Now it just sprays arrows (doesn’t even need a target) just randomly all over the place.  Gosh man, even in Diablo 2 like 17  years ago it worked properly as that Amazon skill.  I swapped it for Murder of Crows it’s so dumb.  It doesn’t even sound cool like barrage use to, it sounds like, multi-shot I believe.

Then Mend pet.  Mend pet was instant, it’s still instant.  But, it’s not.  It’s gotta be at least a .5 cast time now, maybe a little less, but it’s there.  Or… something.  You use to be able to weave it into your regular rotation like it’s nothing, now there’s a little delay like you’re having lag.  So whatever is doing that, it’s different.

Then bursting shot.  It’s supposed to hit “all enemies in front of you”.  Says nothing about range.  It couldn’t even hit this goat, from this range:

or this range:

or THIS RANGE

It literally has a graphical area of effect of perhaps 2 years, but an effective range of 0 yards.

This goat is being hit by the animation.  It doesn’t actually GET HIT.

And, I want to tame these guys.  But, I can’t!

And finally, don’t ask me to joins “Sons of the Alliance”, I will snark and tell you I can’t because I’m not a son.  It’s my thing but I won’t join a guild with a stupid name.
